Tackling the nitty gritty.

As part of a small marketing team at Indigo, I collaborated on a company rebrand, developing new sales literature and tone of voice. I ensured consistent brand identity across a multi-layered marketing strategy, from email to OOH advertising, with my designs featured at major sports events and the Brynglas Tunnel. I also created content for social media, digital ads, and email campaigns (HubSpot/Mailchimp) to generate MQLs and build website news posts.

Visual Description: This is a set of adverts for Indigo at the WRU. These were used in both print and digital display capacity.

From left to right:

Poster 1: An image of a male Rugby player looks directly at the viewer. A construction vest has been photoshopped onto his torso. The image is gritty, and arresting.  The Indigo logo sits beneath the mans chin and the subtext reads beneath, ‘Keeping subcontractors safe and compliant.’. The words safe and compliant are underlined with a yellow scribbly styled line. To the right of this subtext is a QR code. Beneath this subtext is the company website.

Poster 2:  An image of a black male is tackling a Rugby tackling practice bag. This is a dark blue. His face is looking down towards the company slogan, leading viewers to it. It reads ‘The experts in commercial contracting’. His body is in the air, almost horizontal, his legs curved upward. His shoes are on brand in a bright blue. These partially obstruct without losing legibility the ads core wording, ‘Tackling the nitty gritty. So you don’t have to.’. There is emphasis on the last line with a bolder weight and the words ‘you don’t’ underlined in blue. The logo is in the top left. A QR code sits to the right of the logo.
Beneath the man’s legs, the subtext reads ‘We make sure you’re working with subcontractors on a long-term basis in a way that’s effective, legal and safe. The company website URL sits beneath the slogan.

Poster 3: A rugby ball with the Indigo logo superimposed is scoring over a white line on grass.  Below in large white text reads ‘Getting you over the line.’, the ‘you’ is circled in a scratchy yellow line. Beneath this reads the subtext,’We’ve been the experts in commercial contracting for over 15 years. Getting businesses over the line means just that – we make sure you’re working with subcontractors on a long-term basis that’s effective, legal and safe.’ Beneath this subtext is the company URL. To the right of the subtext is a QR code.

Poster 4: An image of a match in a stadium. 3 male players in red and white are performing a rugby lineout. To the right of them are two male opposing players in blue. To the left are 3 construction workers. The player in red catching the ball is central to the composition. The ball slightly occludes the wording in large type, ‘Don’t drop the ball. Stay compliant.’, the last line is underlined in a scratchy yellow line. The Indigo logo sits above, in navy and large, filling the width of the poster. At the lower end of the poster reads the company slogan and URL. To the right of this is a small white QR code.

My manager and I were accountable for all creative aspects of the business’s partnership with the Welsh Rugby Union, from initial research and ideation, with me completely accountable for final production.

Following competitor research, I would produce prototypes for adverts. These were later presented to key stakeholders as hand-drawn thumbnails and loosely-designed mock-ups. Design concepts were often centred around a selection of taglines and copy I had produced in the research phase. Following approval, these concepts were realised in Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.

These campaigns were prominently displayed at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff through digital billboards, stadium LED and printed event programs. We also had occasional placements at sports events held at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Supporting a rebrand.

Upon joining Indigo, I collaborated with the Marketing Manager to lead a company rebrand.

I developed the official company brand guidelines and applied them to a new sales pack, helping the sales team’s client proposal capabilities.

The first images in the top half show a carousel made from 3 slides:

Slide 1: Features a group of construction project managers on the right side of the image. On the left, in large yellow text, it reads “What is CIS?” Below this, in smaller black text, is the subtext: “Learn more about the construction industry scheme (CIS)…”. A prominent yellow banner runs along the bottom, stating: “Your complete guide to CIS”. The Indigo logo is visible in the top left corner.

Slide 2: The group of construction workers from the first slide is now cut, appearing on the left side, creating a seamless visual flow upon swiping. To their right, in large yellow text, it asks: “Does CIS apply to you?” Below, in smaller black text, is the subtext: “CIS can be tricky. But we’re the experts!”. The yellow banner at the bottom, “Your complete guide to CIS”, is repeated.

Slide 3: This slide acts as a final call to action. On the left, in large yellow text, it reads: “Your guide to CIS”. Below, in smaller black text, is the subtext: “Read more here”. The yellow banner at the bottom, “Your complete guide to CIS”, is repeated for consistency.

The second half of the image, shows 4 more posts for Indigo:
